Good place to stay

Place looks like it’s open prison

We had another great stay here. Excellent service from Helen and her team again. The free tea and coffee machine in the bar area is a very nice touch along with fruit and donuts, but it would have been nice if the donuts had been covered to prevent the wasps and flies from enjoying them! It’s a lovely hotel but such a shame there is no air conditioning anywhere. The fans we were supplied for our room only moved the hot air around. I know the heatwave was not the hotels problem but, in this instance, if we had not already paid for our room, we would have looked for somewhere else which did have air conditioning. We had a lovely well cooked and presented evening meal in the restaurant. The breakfast had a good selection of different foods and was constantly being replenished; however, the plates were cold. The swimming pool is nice but the jacuzzi was stone cold. We have stayed here on a few occasions before, and we would recommend and will stay again.

Very disappointed breakfast was rationed out very poorly arrived at 8:45 told no fruit or yogurt left bacon sausage we’re just about stocked but that was about it. Advertised as indoor pool doesn’t state it’s freezing cold as is the hot tub room was very basic dirty bathroom and bed dipped to the middle only the small things but it’s what we look for sowwewhere to relax and enjoy a swim

We had a wedding breakfast and evening do there. Staff were exceptional. Very attentive. I’d recommend for a wedding definitely. My only niggles were. We were told we’d have tea and coffee and out of the room By 6 pm to prepare the room for the evening. But we were kicked out at 5,30 being told yes we could have hot drinks in the bar but no announcement was made so no one knew this. Also, canapés , although we did ask for someone to walk round with them and offer to guests, we were told it would be better if they were sat just inside the door . Again no one knew they were there apart from the few who discovered them. We had a superior room which was pretty standard so would stick with a regular room if I stayed again. I think some rooms have air con, some fridges ? The room was ok. Breakfast was plentiful and was 8-10. Overall it’s a good hotel with good staff.

There is nothing superior about the superior room, there is no signage outside telling you where to go, the windows in the room didn’t stay open, the fan we were given did nothing (it was warm) and the room is in a semi modern block rather than in the old house. Staff were friendly and the bar area is nice but I probably wouldn’t stay here again

We stayed at Sedgebrook Hall while attending my brother’s funeral on the Friday, and we were looking for somewhere peaceful, comfortable, and relaxing during a very difficult time. It turned out to be the perfect choice. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming, warm, and friendly. Their kindness and professionalism made a real difference to our stay. Dinner was excellent, beautifully prepared and presented, and breakfast was plentiful with a generous selection to choose from. We also appreciated the tea and coffee machines conveniently located around the communal areas near the bar. The hotel was spotlessly clean throughout, and every member of staff we encountered was genuinely lovely. It was refreshing to experience such consistently high standards of hospitality and customer service, especially after some disappointing experiences elsewhere that had left me questioning whether traditional hospitality still existed. I know some guests have commented on the age of the building and signs of wear, but it’s important to consider the exceptional value for money this beautiful hotel offers. Maintaining a property of this size and character must be a significant undertaking, and it’s clear that the key areas of the hotel are very well cared for. I have family living nearby, and Sedgebrook Hall will absolutely be my first choice whenever I visit in the future. I will also be recommending it to friends and family without hesitation. A heartfelt thank you to all the staff for making our stay so comfortable and memorable during such a sad and difficult time. Big shout out to Clyde, the beautiful hotel cat! What a big old charmer!
