Great find in Newport . Was seeking affordable luxury accommodation before heading to IOW Festival - Hewitt's certainly didn't disappoint . Ideal location , beautiful room and delicious continental breakfast . Dean and his staff were exceptional - friendly and nothing a bother . Will definitely look to book again next year

We had room 5 overlooking the garden. There were many really good features * curtains dark enough to allow one to sleep in the morning, * large space * en suite bath/shower * generous tea coffee/water/biscuits etc * a lovely garden, * clean (and daily cleaning on request) * comfy bed * friendly service at breakfast * helpful prompt email replies when booking. The breakfasts are exactly as advertised, cereals, yogurts, rolls, toast etc quality tea and coffee and a very cute fruit salad. If you don't mind a sugary breakfast you'll be content - we topped up with wholemeal rolls and seeds and nuts. The best feature was the central location, 5 minutes to most of the Islands buses, many shops, yet Hewitt's feels tucked away and calm. Definitely, overall, the best Isle of Wight stay we've had. FYI The property serves meals Wednesday to Sunday (but there might be e.g. a wedding party on other days).

We stayed for one night at this delightful hotel. The room was very comfortable with a huge bed and spacious bathroom. The staff are very welcoming and the continental breakfast was perfect. There's a lovely walled garden where apparently they occasionally have entertainment. It's just a few minutes walk to the main streets of Newport and the bus station.

Had a wonderful nights sleep in the ultra comfy huge bed - would recommend ear plugs if you want an earlyish night as my room is close to the restaurant and stairs for other guests but it quietened down before 11ish . There was a self service continental breakfast - nice touch to be given a dish of fresh fruit with my hot drinks. Would have been good to have the option of a cooked hot breakfast at an extra cost as I think the restaurant is popular in the day so I was expecting top notch breakfast options too . Would definitely return

We'd booked a 1 night stop over during 4 old boys cycling tour across IoW and south coast - all very easy online and confirmed by phone Perfect stay in decent character rooms in traditional setting - and a good sleep Special attention given - sharing beds (so twins in both rooms) and bike storage indoors Only shame was we arrived late pm on Sunday and understandably no dinner service after bank holiday Sunday lunches and continental breakfast - so staff recommended Da Vinci restaurant nearby which was excellent after a hard day in the saddle And incredible value at £110 per room B&B

Lovely room and fantastic bathroom with everything you needed. Great value for money. Staff were all friendly and polite. Very clean and spacious room. Just like the photos you see online. We would definitely stay here again.

Great location. Rooms all individual and thoughtfully decorated. Staff all very polite and accommodating and food was great. Was there for an 80th birthday family celebration weekend. We ate in the restaurant for both dinner and the Sunday roast feast! Very value and all around great experience.

Situated very nicely in the centre of Newport and close to the Bus Station. Cannot comment on the Restaurant as we were only staying one night and not a night the restaurant was open. Dean and staff very friendly and helpful. Dean was especially very quick, helpful and very efficient when coming back to us with any questions we had. Rooms clean and comfortable Beds very comfortable Breakfast- only continental available - which was adequate but would have preferred cooked. Would definitely recommend.
