Two major issues with this hotel. First, they do not accept Uniopay cards, actually could inform guests in advance, make sure to check before you arrive. Second, my cash deposit was not returned upon check-out. I sent an email to the hotel, but it has been over 18 hours and I still haven't received any reply. I hope this gets resolved, but the experience has been disappointing so far

I am writing to complain about an unexpected charge on my credit card during my stay at your hotel. On April 24, during check-in, I was informed about the USD 300 deposit, and I understood that this was a standard security deposit. However, on April 25, I noticed an additional charge of USD 103.26 on my credit card. I was not informed about this charge, and I do not know what this amount is for. I would like to request a clear explanation regarding this charge and kindly ask you to review it as soon as possible. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 Excellent Stay I had a truly wonderful stay at Sofitel New York and would not hesitate to return. The hotel’s location is unbeatable — right in Midtown Manhattan, just a short walk from Times Square, Bryant Park, and Fifth Avenue. Despite being in such a lively area, the hotel feels calm, refined, and private, offering a perfect balance between convenience and relaxation. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcome and well cared for. They helped me with my luggage, made check-in seamless, and were always attentive throughout my stay. When I was leaving, they even helped me get a cab, which made everything smooth and stress-free. I also really appreciated their flexibility. My plans changed unexpectedly, so I asked if I could have a late check-out. The normal check-out time is 11:00, but they kindly allowed me to stay until 13:00 without any issue. That thoughtful gesture really showed their excellent hospitality. Another small but meaningful detail was when they offered me a bottle of water so I could refill it at the water station on my floor. It’s such a simple act, but it really reflects how considerate and guest-focused the staff are. The room itself was spotless, cozy, and elegantly designed. The bed was extremely comfortable, and I had a lovely view of the city. The bathroom was spacious, with great lighting, high-quality amenities, and excellent water pressure. Everything was well maintained and felt luxurious without being over the top. The atmosphere throughout the hotel is sophisticated yet warm — classic French elegance blended perfectly with New York charm. The amenities were good overall, and with a few small additions, the experience would be absolutely flawless. Overall, my stay at Sofitel New York exceeded expectations in every way. The location, service, and comfort were all exceptional. The staff truly go above and beyond to make guests feel at home, and their kindness and professionalism left a lasting impression. I highly recommend Sofitel New York to anyone looking for a luxurious and memorable stay in the heart of Manhattan.

Room is ok but due to New York the hotel has not much facilities has only gym no pool Por sauna no steam room

stayed here for new years! nice service and clean. it big of delay on room service or didn’t get something we called for at all.

Great location….but that’s what you’re paying for. Check in was fast and the staff were welcoming and friendly. There are umbrellas to use in the rainy weather and the front concierge staff are happy and greet you nicely. The location is convenient- close to all main sites of NYC but just far away enough from the noise and bustle so you can have a peaceful night’s sleep. Air conditioning can be adjusted as our room got a little too cool for our comfort. The luxury king room high floor itself is disappointing. Quite a bit more in cost compared to a standard king room, the room doesn’t have any fabulous views or even a bathtub that can accommodate someone comfortably. One website advertises the luxury king rooms have a ‘spa bath’. This is fact is not true and incorrect. Room slippers are very nice and there are enough towels for 2 people. Pillows are too soft and the room furniture is tired-looking. Some peeling wallpaper as well indicating the need for a refit. For the money, there’s no breakfast either and if you wish to extend your checkout after 11am, it’s $100 for 1-3 hours. A bit rich, considering you’re better off getting a lounge pass at the airport or simply go for a walk around this amazing city. To compensate, there’s an awesome diner 50m from the hotel that serves fantastic breakfast, lunch and dinner. Bathroom products are lovely- Balmain and there’s only 1 bathrobe in the room, which I thought was strange, considering the booking was for 2 people. No minibar either… why is this?! I would stay again simply because of the location but I would not pay for the luxury king room high floor again, as it’s not worth the money. Keep the location but take a standard room.

Location is good if you want to stay close to Times Square. Their fridge was not working but they immediately send one when I complained. Elevator is okay, doesn’t bounce.
