Just a tremendous stay all around. Great staff, a clean, lovely, classy, and spacious room plus great amenities. The library, gym, and spa are awesome!

The hospitality was top tier and the hotel was beautiful. We had a great experience for our 13th anniversary.

Absolutely LOVED my stay. From check in to check out. Gratitude for the welcoming energy, especially as a POC. Our room was very clean, needs met and vibes were high and lovely. I can’t WAIT to come back.

A beautiful and historic property that is unique and special in every way. The staff were delightful, friendly, helpful and generous. The furnishings exquisite and well maintained. There was a clean atmosphere that was a surprise given the age of the hotel, and it’s in a city that has lots of humidity where you normally would find a moldy smell there was none! Much appreciated for someone who has allergies. I wish I didn’t have such a late check-in because I wasn’t able to appreciate all that the property had to offer but if I come back, we’ll stay there in a flash Great job and a wonderful experience!

I really wanted to like the Detroit Club, and had selected it for my 3-night business trip specifically for its classic bar, salt pool and amenities, good breakfast reviews, and location. While the location and gym/spa soaking pool lived up to expectations, nothing else did, and aspects were very inconvenient. The breakfast —while convenient— was lackluster at best, and doesn’t vary from day to day at all. The library bar and restaurant were both closed upon my dinner time arrival on Monday, then the bar closed by 8pm the subsequent nights, so I never got to enjoy it. Guests checking in right before me were given a welcome drink of bubbly that looked to be provided to all…not to me. The room was poorly insulated from sound —despite the large room and bed location very far from the wall of the neighboring room, I could hear their conversation and TV. The cherry on top — there is no keycard entry to the main door to the building and they lock the front door at a certain evening hour (unsure when); when I returned around 11pm from dinner and drinks with friends my final evening with an early flight the next morning, the doorbell does not work and phone number provided went unanswered over and over. I had to literally pound on the front door, try the employee entrance back door, and pound some more to try and wake someone up and kept trying to call (10+ attempts) for nearly 45 minutes before the night shift worker finally came to the door. Never again.

The Detroit Club is a stunning 1920s style hotel, with beautiful decor and furnishings. The spa rooms are spacious, well designed and cleaned to perfection each day. However, the management style and staff really let this hotel down. Breakfast is served in the lounge/bar area and offers a limited choice repeated every day. There is no coffee/tea facilities in the rooms, nor a fridge so guests need to go down to the lounge area on awaking for a coffee. The young gentleman who checked us in was very friendly & helpful, as were the restaurant staff but the lady at reception rarely smiled & made every request for help seem like an intrusion on her time. During our stay the hotel was being painted, outside & inside. No notice was given to guests. The billiards room & cigar lounge were closed as they ripped up the floor. Guests needed to exit & enter the hotel under a ladder over the main door. The staircase was closed & covered in plastic protection - this is the fire exit!! The smell of paint was so strong guests did not want to sit in the bar/lounge & my partner had breathing issues. None of this work was explained before or during our stay, no apology for the inconvenience. The final straw was when we asked for a slightly later check out [noon instead of 11am) and were told its hotel policy to charge $50!! They couldnt even offer an extra 30minutes. Saving/making money here seems to be the priority - not customer satisfaction. Such a shame

Loved everything about the hotel. Mother daughter trip was great and we felt like we were staying in a castle. Didn’t use the bathtub only because it was in the middle of the bedroom rather than in the bathroom. Loved the offer of champagne when we checked in except we were only given about 1/3 of a glass. Lol!

The hotel was absolutely stunning! Our room was amazing! Clean and everything we needed. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon and check in was good but more information could have been given about amenities on site. Breakfast was confusing. It was hard to know which plates were clean and which were dirty. Lots of staff moving furniture and busy but no one really helping the guests on sight.
