We have just stayed at this resort in Sardinia for 7 days with our 17 year old and had the most brilliant week! The location is lovely with easy access to the beautiful beach. The staff work incredibly hard and their dedication and enthusiasm showed in abundance…nothing was too much trouble and their energy never wavered. Rooms were lovely and airy and cleaned daily and to a high standard. We used the gym daily for spinning classes and weights (the gym guy was brilliant) and also entered the padel competition and took part in the acqua aerobics….there really is something for everyone! Food was faultless and plentiful with lots of variety and each night had a different twist. You can also use the two additional restaurants on the resort and we had an evening meal at the beach one and a lunch at the one on site which was excellent! The evening entertainment was great, with shows and interactive performances and again something for everyone…if you are willing to get involved you’ll have the best time….we came away feeling both uplifted and rested. Thank you to all!

We checked into this resort today after traveling more than 14 hours from the United States, so naturally we were exhausted and looking forward to settling into the family accommodations we had been promised. When we booked, we were specifically told that we would be getting a family suite with two queen beds and one king bed, which was a major factor in our decision to book this resort for our family. Unfortunately, that is absolutely not what we received. Instead, we were placed in what appears to be a junior suite with an additional bed added to the main bedroom and were told that this was considered a “family suite.” The room is quite small and does not remotely match what was described to us when we made our reservation. We have since learned that the resort apparently does not even have queen-size beds, which makes the information we were given when booking even more frustrating. The front reception experience has also been extremely disappointing. There is a group of young employees working at reception who seem more interested in pacifying guests by repeatedly saying, “I’m sorry, we don’t have any other options,” rather than actually trying to find a solution. At one point, while I was explaining my complaint, several employees went partially behind a closed door and were visibly mouthing things to each other about my complaint. This was incredibly unprofessional and made an already frustrating situation even worse. What is most upsetting is that we traveled all the way from the United States and specifically chose this resort based on information we were given about the accommodations. We were expecting a room that could comfortably accommodate our family, and instead we feel that we were misled about the room category and sleeping arrangements. To be fair, the beach is incredible, and the food is decent, typical Italian buffet-style resort food. However, beautiful surroundings cannot make up for being given inaccurate information and then receiving poor customer service when trying to address the issue. Our experience so far has been essentially a lot of “yes,” followed by no actual action. If you are considering booking here, I strongly recommend confirming the exact room configuration, bed sizes, and room category in writing before booking. Don’t simply rely on what you are told by the reservation staff. We came here expecting a relaxing family vacation. Instead, on our very first day, we are already extremely disappointed.

We had a great holiday at this resort. Every single staff member was polite and friendly. We couldn’t thank enough Benito and Monica for looking after our 11 years old son. He had an amazing time at the kids club. You guys deserve a special bonus. Also many thanks to Bamba from the main restaurant. Entertainment was really good. Enzo, you are doing such an excellent job. Good food and good drinks as well. Sea was beautiful and the beach clean. We would definitely love to come back next year!!!! Grazie a tutti!!

I am ranking this holiday as 3 stars as I cannot give 3.5 stars. It is good resort with room for improvements (7/10). It ticked a lot of the boxes for a family with young kids and generally we had a good time, however I would say there are a some things that could be done to improve the experience. To arrive it takes 1.5 hours by car and the resort is fairly secluded. We knew this going into the holiday so we hired a car which i recommend as it gives you the opportunity to visit the island. There is a car park on site so parking is not an issue. The location of the hotel is good because you can access various towns in just over an hour. For example we travelled to alghero to visit the old town and to palau for a boat trip. There is also castelsardo nearby which is beautiful. The secluded location of the hotel improves the beach experience because it is quieter and there are a set of sun beds that are included in the stay (not the front row unless you're prestige). The beach is accessible along a boardwalk which leads out of the back of the resort. It is West facing so you get the sunset every night which is nice (bring some bug spray). On calm days the waters are blue and good for snorkeling but if it's windy it can be more rough. The hotel provides water equipment at the beach for you to use free of charge. This included water bikes, paddle boards, kayaks etc. The pool is a good size and not too busy for the time of year (late July). The slide is good and there is a small splash park close by. They did aquaaerobic classes daily which seemed fairly light but good fun. There is also another pool for swimming lengths which was not busy and would be good for anyone looking to swim consistently. On arrival we were greeted with helpful reception staff and there was water / croissants available. Unfortunately there was not gluten free food available and lunch had finished so my wife had to wait until dinner for the next meal which was not ideal. Generally the food was pretty average and felt quite mass produced. Although this is fairly predictable, I was expecting more variety and different themes, which there wasnt. There were gluten free options for food but it was the same 'pasta with sauce' options every night which is not sustainable for a week. The other food options were sometimes gluten free, however some dishes had signs stating it contained gluten but when you asked the staff, they said it was gluten free. Some food did not have gluten signs and had bread in them so I feel like dinner was a lot more effort than it needed to be. For clarity, I am not gluten free and the food was not exceptional anyway. There was a gluten free dessert available every day and generally the desserts were quite tasty. There are two other restaurants outside of the main restaurant. This was our second stay in this hotel but sadly the last one. We initially stayed in Is Serenas Badesi last year and we quite enjoyed it. We decided to come back this year and rent a car and explore the island. We would not be coming back to Is Serenas Badesi. In comparison to last year it went downhill massively. Food was nowhere near up to standard, no variety, cold, with flies everywhere. Items such as cheeses, cold cuts or seafood should be presented refrigerated not in an open buffet bar! Breakfast was pretty poor. There were no themed nights, and really basic composition of each dish. Not to mention either the food or water gave us food poisoning as both of us were room bound for 2 days with somach cramps, nausea, diarrhoea. Management never acknowledged the issue, yet we met a few other couples who experienced the same issues and the queue to resorts doctor was rather large. They turned off drinking water source and provided carton replacements which does make you think it water contamination was the issue. We ended up driving to the nearest supermarket to buy 12 large bottles of water. Prestige pool area was also closed for one morning without explanation. We can only imagine it was due to some contamination. We had prestige room but honestly there is very little prestige about it! It is not worth the extra. WiFi worked terribly this time round, on and off all the time, completely unreliable. There used to be free ice cream at the beach and pool area last year, this year you had to pay for ice cream. The only reason we’ve given it 3 stars is because staff was very nice, and it’s not their fault how hotel is managed. Also beach is stunning and hotel grounds are immaculately kept. But due to bad experience we will not be coming back. We will hopefully come back to Sardinia next year, just not to Is Serenas Badesi.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel and would happily return in the future. The hotel is set in a beautiful, peaceful location surrounded by greenery. The accommodation is spread across charming little huts with 3–5 rooms, which gives the whole resort a relaxed and intimate feel. We especially enjoyed our evening walks around the grounds – the atmosphere was lovely. The staff were incredibly friendly and always happy to help. The hotel itself never felt overcrowded, which was one of the biggest positives for us. There were always sun loungers available by the pool, no matter what time of day we arrived. It was so refreshing not to have to wake up early just to reserve a lounger. There were plenty of activities available, including tennis, padel, football, darts and a free outdoor gym, which my husband used every day. The gym is outside, so it’s best used in the morning or evening before it gets too hot. Wi-Fi was available throughout the resort and worked very well. One thing we particularly appreciated was the air conditioning in the room. Unlike many hotels where it switches off when you leave, ours stayed on all day, so it was wonderful coming back to a cool room after spending hours in the sun. It was also very quiet, so it didn’t disturb our sleep at all. The food was excellent with a good variety every day. The only small disappointment was that free ice cream for children was only available during meal times. At any other time, it had to be purchased. We also found the meal schedule a little inconvenient. Breakfast was served from 7:30–9:30, lunch from 12:30–2:30, and then there was no food available until dinner at 7:30 pm. After spending the afternoon by the pool, we were usually hungry around 5 pm, so we ended up taking a few snacks from breakfast to keep us going. The children’s entertainment didn’t start until 9 pm, which felt quite late for younger children. There are a couple of areas where the hotel could improve. Smoking was allowed throughout the resort, including around families and children. We feel designated smoking areas would make the experience much more enjoyable for everyone. This was probably our biggest disappointment. We were also concerned that the lifeguards didn’t always seem focused on the pool. On several occasions they spent time looking at their phones rather than watching the water. Of course, parents are always responsible for supervising their own children, but attentive lifeguards provide an important extra layer of safety. One final tip for future guests: bring mosquito repellent. There are lots of mosquitoes in the evening, and while repellent is available in the hotel shop, it’s quite expensive. Overall, we had a very pleasant holiday. Without the smoking issue and a little more attention from the lifeguards around the pool, this would easily have been a five-star experience. Maria, our waitress at La Gaddura Trattoria, was absolutely wonderful. She made us feel genuinely welcomed and well taken care of throughout the entire evening. Her kindness, attentiveness, and warm personality turned our dinner into a truly special experience. Thanks to Maria, our meal was not only delicious but also unforgettable. We highly recommend both the restaurant and Maria's outstanding service!

My wife and I stayed at this hotel at the end of June as Prestige guests, and unfortunately the experience fell far short of what was promised. On arrival, we went to the Prestige check‑in area but were completely ignored. After around 15 minutes of waiting, we had to approach the standard reception desk just to get assistance. The first room we were given had a non‑functional air‑conditioner, and after nearly two hours we were moved to another room. The second room also had issues — Alexa, the phone and the TV were all not working — which meant yet another trip to reception. Staff seemed reluctant to help until I raised my voice, and it took almost four hours from arrival before we were finally able to relax. The food throughout the stay was bland and repetitive. Two days into the holiday I suffered food poisoning after a meal in the Prestige restaurant. I ordered beef but ended up eating more of the string tied around it than the actual meat. This resulted in sickness, diarrhoea, and an entire day confined to bed. My wife also experienced stomach issues later in the week, spending most of Thursday in bed. Several other British guests we spoke to reported similar problems. One day, the Prestige pool was closed without any warning, and we were simply told that “urgent maintenance” was required. We also noticed a clear difference in how guests were treated. While not all staff were dismissive, many seemed uninterested unless you were Italian, and we were frequently overlooked in restaurants while Italian guests were prioritised. There were other disappointing moments during our stay, but the above gives a clear picture. You pay a significant premium to be a Prestige guest, yet receive very little in return. Overall, this was not the experience we expected or paid for.
